Take a walk on the wild side

If a game drive is like watching a movie, a guided walk is like reading a book. Exploring the Lower Zambezi on foot lets you appreciate some of the many details that make up these unique habitats and learn about animal tracks and signs, insects, and even traditional medicinal uses of local plants and trees.

You’ll also have the chance to immerse yourself in the vast landscapes of Africa and channel the spirit of our ancestors as you leave behind only footprints.

Each Amanzi walking safari is led by one of our experienced guides, accompanied by an armed National Parks Wildlife Officer for your peace of mind.

Gain a fresh awareness of the intricacies and intimate details of the African bush. Zambia is one of the last destinations where these crucial aspects of life on Earth can be truly experienced in their authentic wild state.

Each Amanzi walking safari is tailored to the season and your specific interests. Our walks typically cover around 4km over the course of two to three hours, with the cool early mornings being the best time to head out.
